· The monetary scholarship is awarded by the “Asociación Boricua de Dallas, Inc.”. Amounts may vary according to eligibility. Eligibility Criteria · Hispanic students starting college pursuing an academic, technical or vocational degree need to meet the following criteria: o Full time student (e.g. 12 or more credit hours) o GPA 2.80 or higher o Resident of Denton, Dallas, Tarrant or Collin counties o SAT 1000 or higher
o ACT 21 or higher Consideration · Must submit a complete application and meet the following criteria: o To include proof of grades and proof of either SAT or ACT scores. o To include a typed, 300 ~ 350 word essay with a 10 ~ 12 point font § Essay should contain information listed on the application form. o Complete application must be received on or before the deadline date on the application form. o Winners will be notified on or before the end of July of current high school graduating year. Scholarship Awards Ceremony · Scholarships will be awarded in a formal ceremony at a local Dallas hotel. Ceremony is normally held on a Sunday towards the end of November during current high school graduating year. More information will be provided at a later date. · Actual funds will be awarded to student during the awards ceremony. Students will need to be enrolled in a university or technical school before the awards ceremony for current or subsequent semester.
