MAKING THE GRADE
An outstanding example of Microsoft’s work to promote education in Hispanic communities is the company’s recent donation of scholarship grants to the Asociación Boricua de Dallas, Inc. (Puerto Rican Association of Dallas).
To thank Microsoft for its support, the association presented the company with a Community Service Award. Shown at the award ceremony are (from left) Antonio Santos of the association; Senior Human Resources Manager Ivan Thompson, Microsoft Las Colinas; General Manager Jay Vernon, Las Colinas; Raul Ferrer, also with the association; and Support Professional Mike Rosado, Las Colinas.
Microsoft’s donation will help award scholarship grants to students from a wide variety of Hispanic backgrounds in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
“It’s our hope that we can help make a difference in these individuals’ education and provide access to technology,” said Microsoft Diversity Consultant Stafford Mays.
In addition to the monetary award, each student will receive a copy of Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Office XP Professional, donated by Rosado. |
